At first, I want to create a page where random thoughts fill the page completely, where the users have to try to find certain words.  However, I wasn’t sure where my the design aspect of it. Then, I try to mimic things I think about throughout the day or things I hear or see. They tend to become a blur as time goes. I made the words scramble once they are clicked on.

The Colors

The colors on the left are the Fall 2015 “official” colors ( “Pantone LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of X-Rite, Incorporated, is the world-renowned authority on color and provider of color systems and leading technology for the selection and accurate communication of color across a variety of industries. The PANTONE® name is known worldwide as the standard language for color communication from designer to manufacturer to retailer to customer.” Hovering over a color will reveal the name and pantone code. Clicking on the color will change the color of the map to the clicked color.

The Countries + Images

A few key countries have been chosen and labeled on the world map. Hovering over a country label will reveal a pop-up image taken from the country’s section on lookbook ( Lookbook is a website where people can post photos of themselves in fashionable clothing. It has several categories, including countries – eg. Japan section ( I hope to add some code that will randomly generate a new photo from that country each time you hover over the country label (this will require me scraping the images from the lookbook site.)

The purpose of this single serve site is to allow users to explore whether or not people in various countries are wearing clothing that match Pantone’s global colors for this season. Ideally, I will also add a feature where the user can actually tally the number of “matches” of clothing color to Pantone color for each country – this is my next step!

Lynn posted Single Serve Website: Nocturne (Description) in A3 part 1, Assignment 3

Nocturne is a single serve website translating a sensory and visual experience onto the web page:

A music box. Sunrise/Sunset.

Upon scrolling down, the sun sets and the moon appears as the sky becomes darker with the tunes of Chopin’s Nocturne (C-minor). When scrolling up, a reversed version of the track plays as the moon disappears and the sun rises, creating an opposite and re-created narrative of classical music.
